A year doesn’t go by without a hand knit scarf, pair of gloves, or sweater given by my friends and family during the holidays. Nintendo must have caught on, because this new year will be bringing us another all-knitted Nintendo game, Yarn Yoshi. We gamers have been all strung up with excitement- no pun intended.
Similar to the Wii game Kirby’s Epic Yarn, developed by Good-Feel, Yarn Yoshi will be featuring a complete yarn and fabric environment with Yoshi presenting a tridimensional all-knitted form. You heard me- Nintendo’s well known and popular series have become laden in embroidery. And there’s no point in hiding the fact- we are expecting it to be absolutely adorable. While this game is still in development and no release date has been announced, some gamers already have their set predictions on the many outcomes of this game. Let’s hear a few, shall we?
It’s safe to say that Daemon Gildas, from a gaming newsfeed article, has a few mixed emotions. “I’m not quite sure how I feel about the “Yarn” aesthetic being repeated for Yoshi, but I can safely say that I’m excited by this. I personally would have gone a direction similar to Super Mario Sunshine, with more of a “tropical” flair, and maybe even a little Banjo-Kazooie style of obtaining new “powers” as the game progresses.”
Other’s from around the globe had a bit more optimism in their outlook. “I loved the aesthetic and game-play of Epic Yarn, so I’m super excited to hear more about this!” and “This game looks pretty fun. I had hoped for something more in the vein of Yoshi’s Island than Yoshi’s Story, but it looks pretty enjoyable nonetheless!”
We don’t have any more set in stone details for this upcoming game, but we sure do know it’s going to be cute.
